In all the hullabaloo surrounding us, there appears a line that seems to be revealing itself daily.
A line that is proudly us and them.
A line of heaven and hell.
Of inclusion and exclusion.
I think the most profound thing that is being left out of the opponents of inclusion is the Trinity. When your personal agendas outweigh the very essence of WHO it is that has revealed Himself in Jesus, you are a thrill-seeking, man-pleasing [oh yes you love the amens and cheers and standing ovations you get] hate mongering fool of a minister. Have your opinion, but when you link yourself to, and identify yourself as a fearless crusader for truth, then back it up buttercup. Have some theology besides your own opinion, cause you are not the final word. That title belongs to Jesus.
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God..
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
Or how about when one of the disciples wanted to build a tabernacle for Moses (the law) and Elijah (the prophets) and GOD himself spoke and said.. “This is beloved son, hear HIM!”
We’ve got tabernacle theology rampantly running helter skelter through our lands. They are proclaiming ABOMINATIONS! Fear this! Tattoo a warning on gay foreheads! Rise up and prepare for war..on and on…
And yet the words of Jesus echo in my heart.. Fear not..love your enemies. Bless those who curse you..do good to those who spitefully use you..go the extra mile..turn the other cheek..if he is thirsty give him a drink..don’t strategize how to rid yourself of him and his kind. It seems they’ve forgotten the work of Jesus and are crusaders of the ‘God’ they think the Father is..forgetting that the 3 are one inseparable being..forever speaking and acting the same..as Jesus stated over and over..”if you’ve seen ME you’ve seen the Father..”
Yes He taught, He warned, He lived by example, He fully lived as man, He fully laid down His life, He fully rose, He fully lives again. And then it says..For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive… The same Jesus who taught us to pray “THY will be done on earth as it is in heaven” made all alive through HIS resurrection and now submits Himself back to the Father
having done His will in bringing all back alive …in full confidence that He knows HIS father’s nature.
Paul echoes this in my favorite verse.. “God was in Christ reconciling the WORLD to HIMSELF, NOT counting their sins against them! ”
He wasn’t standing off to the side waiting for Jesus to finish his work so they could be one again. He was IN Christ!
